Victo. 3D – printed, not tinkered
Samsung promotes the SSD 850 Pro with the robot Victo. Read how Form AG used large format 3D printing to produce a much larger version for a customer's promo event.
An eyecatcher is wanted
Adcom Switzerland wanted an eye-catcher for a promotional event and turned to us. Samsung uses the Victo robot to promote fast hard drives.
We printed the robot in several parts on our BigRep ONE in a final size of over two meters from existing digital data that had been specially adapted and prepared for production. The challenge was the data handling and the division of the processes/components, so that in the end a perfectly fitting figure can be created from the different parts. Due to the exact functionality of the BigRep ONE this could be guaranteed without any problems.
Large format 3D printing
In a further step, Victo was filled and sanded manually to level out even the smallest irregularities. Afterwards the robot was hardened with a coating developed by us, so that it is shockproof and if necessary also weatherproof. Here it was important that the accuracy of fit was not affected by the additional coating.
The paint (silver) was applied in the company's own spray booth, for sensitive details foil applications (red areas and eyes) were used.
Each work step was carried out by our corresponding specialist.
The new version is wind- and waterproof
Finally, a tailor-made metal construction provides the appropriate stability.
Wind and weather do not disturb our new variant of the robot Victo: the stable 3D print is additionally hardened and painted.
