Prototypes in 10 days from tempered steel tools:

The «concept prototypes in 10 days from tempered steel tools» has been successfully implemented by SAMAPLAST AG since 2016. Using this established solution, SAMAPLAST AG closes the gap between generatively or conventionally manufactured prototypes and parts from injection moulded serial tools.

The testing of “serial parts” is now possible without high costs and long delivery times. In most cases this also reduces the entire project timescale. In addition, the risk is reduced at a very early stage. Especially in the medical field, this creates new possibilities because necessary verifications and tests can be begun very early. The time-to-market, a decisive competitive factor, can therefore be reduced significantly.

 

SAMAPLAST AG sets standards:

A further milestone was reached with the construction of a new clean room (ISO class 8 in operation according to ISO 14644) and the acquisition of the «ARBURG Freeformer» and «Kumovis PEEK printer». The implementation of the normative specifications of the medical product industry, the qualification of the Freeformer and PEEK printer and the possible subsequent process validation according to ISO 13485 and, respectively, 21 CFR Part 820 took place at the same time. In order to be able to implement the «ARBURG Freeformer» for a wide spectrum, it was fitted out with two separate material preparation units (2K), with a 3-axis controlled component carrier and an integrated vacuum table.

SAMAPLAST AG developed the existing additive-process up to an evaluable prototyping-process and thus also for future manufacturing procedures for medical products. Thus in the future new geometric possibilities can be exploited in small batch series and combinations from prototype-projects up to OEM projects can be offered. 

Alongside large scale production in the injection moulding process, the manufacture of batch sizes of 1 piece and  small series at SAMAPLAST will become childsplay in the future.

 

Faster Design-Freeze with 3D-print:

With the procurement of the FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) 3D-printer «Stratasys F170», SAMAPLAST AG closes a further gap. This printer can produce from 3D-data dimensionally stable components out of a wide bandwith of the most common thermoplastics (PLA, ABS, ASA) with the highest possible precision    and reproducibility.

It supports the development/construction team in the determination of the design, minimizes the residual risk, ultimately reducing lead times and project costs. Ultimately it confirms their design ideas.

The 3D-printer is an important part of the development/con-struction processes. Thus our customer’s ideas can be quickly implemented, produced Just-in-Time, tested on the same day and become marketable faster.
